Psychologist Danita Stewart of Chatsworth and Dr. Catalino Dureza of La Quinta were Billed for allegedly submitting fraudulent insurance claims Including Medical Legal Tests in an attempt to steal tens of thousands of Bucks from multiple insurers.

“Workers’ compensation insurance fraud is now a multibillion dollar drain on our nation’s economy,” said Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara. “It is essential that we work together with our partners in law enforcement to capture fraudsters like those that are leading to higher insurance premiums for all Californians.” 36 deceptive insurance claims were allegedly submitted by stewart between June 2015 and April 2015 to five insurance coverage for Medical Legal Evaluations for an amount of $90,714. Dureza had obtained the certification for Medical Evaluations to conduct and charge, however his certification lapsed.
