A new plan has emerged to deceive insurance agents and brokers into clicking on harmful links, together with cyber criminals sending emails which refer to both the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and the NAIC’s Center for Insurance Policy and Research (CIPR) to help them seem like insurance industry insiders. According to an alert in the NAIC,”We are aware of a phishing scam targeting insurance producers about a falsified insurance coverage related to their firm that has been filed to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. This deceptive email shows the NAIC and CIPR emblem, now originates in a Gmail account and asks the recipient to click on a link to download the complaint telling ” The NAIC claims the emails are properly identified by some products as malicious emails, and it is requesting producers and others who get the mails to get in touch with the NAIC service desk….
