The District of Columbia Department of Insurance, Securities, and Banking (DISB) received 181 Suggested health insurance Coverage rates for Inspection from Aetna, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Kaiser Permanente, and United Healthcare Ahead of open Registration for plan 2020 on DC Health Link, the District of Columbia’s health insurance marketplace.

The section held a hearing on June 10 concerning the proposed 2020 individual and small group health insurance rates proposed by carriers. Through the hearing, DISB Commissioner Stephen C. Taylor provided the insurers the opportunity to present their projected rates, in addition to permit the public to offer comment. Statements could be sent to the department by June 24. “The Bowser government remains committed to undertaking a thorough analysis of their registered rates to determine if they fulfill the District’s standard of not becoming excessive, inadequate, or unfairly discriminatory,” explained Commissioner Stephen C.
